ACLU files Amicus Brief with Supreme Court, seeking to continue the practice of race discrimination in college admissions
For an organization that claims to fight for the end of racism, the ACLU sure does a lot of racist things.
The American Civil Liberties Union, or ACLU, filed an amicus brief to urge the Supreme Court to 'uphold universities' ability to consider race in college admissions.' AKA, maintain their highly racist practice of enforcing race quotas in order to exclude as many white and Asian Americans as possible from admission to universities. The institutional left is waging a war on merit, and they're fighting dirty.
The ACLU, in their own words," ...dares to create a more perfect union — beyond one person, party, or side. Our mission is to realize this promise of the United States Constitution for all and expand the reach of its guarantees."
That's ironic, considering the constitution is supposed to grant equal rights under the law, but somehow that doesn't seem to include achievement based on merit. I guess the preamble can just be discarded, now.
Ask any Asian university applicant who was refused admission into a given university while having better test scores and GPA than their 'POC' peers based on diversity quotas, and they'll say that 'mission statement' is complete garbage. If there's a better way to destroy meritocracy I can't see it.
Asian-Americans are held to higher standards now than anyone else when it comes to their academic merits for admission to universities, because otherwise they would be overwhelmingly represented in every single prestigious institution in the country beyond everyone else, including white people. This is very inconvenient for the crowd who loves to use racially charged rhetoric to explain the successes of white people, among their favorites being 'white privilege'. Don't worry, Asians -- you now have white privilege, too. At least according to the institutional left.
College Transitions is an organization that provides admissions consultancy to students to improve their chances of getting into the school of their choice. They state," Because of negative factors like bias and unofficial quotas, Asian applicants may need to construct a stronger applicant profile than the average admitted student to have a genuine chance of getting into the very best American colleges."
It's a sparing measure by those who champion Critical Race Theory ( while also pretending it doesn't exist to trick the public ) that they've taken to referring to Asian Americans as 'white-adjacent' - meaning that they have effectively turned even the darkest-skinned Indian-American into a white person based on the likelihood that these demographics achieve financial and educational success.
This is because the success of Asian-Americans exceeds those of everybody else, period. The Brookings Institute admits it, as well, stating," The most striking success of Asian-Americans, and the one most commonly highlighted in the media, is in educational attainment. While 36 percent of whites, 23 percent of blacks, and 16 percent of Hispanics have a bachelor’s degree or more, 54 percent of Asians do. Furthermore, while 14 percent of whites have advanced degrees, 21 percent of Asian-Americans do."
These facts are highly inconvenient for the institutional left, but they often demonstrate a unique acumen for easily using racism to their advantage while successfully parrying any accusations related to said racism as the "whining of white people". Using racism to justify racism, classic.
There must be an upheaval in admissions staffing to uproot politically-motivated staffers in favor of those who will do their job equitably based on merit and not woke politics. This has gone way, way too far. And The ACLU wants to keep it going.
