Bari Weiss reveals to Tim Scott on Podcast NYT staffer "wanted to check" with Sen. Schumer before publishing op-ed
Apparently Chuck Schumer is an unofficial editor over at the New York Times. Couple this with Joe Biden checking on an article about his son, Hunter, and you find that Democrats
During her Honestly with Bari Weiss podcast with South Carolina GOP Senator Tim Scott, former NYT Journalist and seemingly reformed psycho-leftist Bari Weiss reveals that one of the senior staff members at The New York Times argued against approving an op-ed that Scott had written for publication in the paper until they had a chance to “Check with Senator Schumer” before running the op-ed in the paper.
The op-ed had been written about The Justice Act, which was a bill Sen. Scott had introduce on June 17th, 2020 — after the killing of George Floyd, during the chaotic, riot-filled summer of partisan violence that then-Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan of Seattle called "The Summer of Love”.
"Well here's what happened," Said Weiss to Scott," And this is the part I'm not sure if you know. There was a discussion about the piece and whether or not we should run it. And one colleague - a more senior colleague - said to a more junior colleague who was pushing for the piece,"Do you think the Republicans really care about minority rights?"
Scott responds,"Wow,"
"And then, and here's the pretty shocking part," Weiss continued." The more senior colleague said,'Let's check with Senator Schumer before we run it',"
The younger staffer at NYT proved that some of them do have integrity by refusing to reach out to Schumer as an editor for their newspaper, because politicians should have zero control over what pieces get published in any publication in this country.
Democrats are colluding with their sycophantic media arm in the institutional left to suppress their political opponents. More at 11.
But seriously, this reveal by Bari Weiss on her podcast with Sen. Scott should give everyone pause. We have known that media and government are in bed together for decades, but it wasn’t totally apparent until Barack Obama famously signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into law that contained a baffling amendment to the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 that made our country’s media’s use of propaganda on the American public legal.
Of course, I reached out to Chuck Schumer’s office for comment, to no avail. I just wanted to know how often the New York Times calls him asking them if they should zig or zag that day. And how high he’d like them to jump.
But the over-arching story one should really get from how Tim Scott is treated in the media should align with how all black conservatives are treated. Their every thought and action is scrutinized, and often they’re accused of betraying their race and fighting on the side of white supremacy.
Remember this LA Times article calling Larry Elder “The Black Face of white supremacy?” And the ironic thing is that he was running in a recall election against a white guy, Gavin Newsom, aka ‘Great Value Patrick Bateman’ from American Psycho. Great movie, by the way.
It will always be remarkable how the party who fought against the abolition of slavery and created the KKK still treats black people like second-class citizens to this day. Whether via the soft bigotry of low expectations, or insisting on speaking on their behalf to use their blackness to push a message they themselves couldn’t adequately get across, democrats are as racist as they ever were. I’ve not heard of any other party whose extremist elements push for a return to segregation, have you?
Democrats levy big promises when they need the votes of the melanated, but when those melanated people come to collect what they’ve been promised, they get discarded. Remember that in November.
