Biden's doom and gloom political ad - the breakdown
This came across my phone on YouTube, and I just had to share with those of you who haven't seen it. Hilarity ensues.
Nothing amuses me more than ads that, despite all the editing, still can’t completely eliminate our demented President’s errors. I get a certain amount of schadenfreude from listening to him speak. Sort of like how George W. Bush’s speeches were always a must-watch just to hear how much he would mess up what he was trying to say. ‘Dubya’ still has my favorite Presidential quote of all time - “Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream.” It should be a bumper sticker. But I digress.
Keep in mind all of the following Biden quotes are written as he said them. It was harder than I thought it would be because my mind instinctively wants to correct the mistakes, but here goes. First, I’ll post the ad in question.
Biden starts strong in the ad, saying, “I wannoo be crystal clear... about what's at stake in the ballot,” Right away he’s promising things he can’t deliver — like being ‘crystal clear’ in any sense of the phrase. Of course this isn’t out of the ordinary for politicians, least of all Biden, who has been in Washington D.C. long enough to flip flop on every hot button issue you can think of to meet the moment in order to garner votes — gay marriage, gun control, marijuana decriminalization, desegregation, abortion — the list goes on. This certainly provides a nice segue into the points I would like to contest in this ad of which I speak.
”Your right to choose is on the ballot”
Remember how I said that Biden has flip-flopped on his abortion rights stance? All the way back in 1974, Biden was a fresh face on the scene in the Senate. Yes, I know what you’re thinking, it’s hard to imagine Biden as a ‘fresh face’, but it’s true. He was quoted then as saying, “I don’t like the Supreme Court decision on abortion. I think it went too far. I don’t think that a woman has the sole right to say what should happen to her body.” I’m sure Tara Reade can confirm that Biden does indeed believe that, but we’re not allowed to talk about that, lest we have to explain why the #MeToo movement died right after Reade accused Biden of sexual assault. Back to the point of the quote at hand, Biden now seeks to pay lip service to concerned women across the country by pretending he wants to do something about it, and yet Democrats had control of Congress many times since the Roe vs. Wade decision was handed down way back in 1973, but still never codified Roe v. Wade into law. If they had tried to, Biden would’ve either blocked it or voted no on it. Just something to think about, but let’s continue.
”Your Social security that you paid for is on the ballot”
Good ol’ Joe would love to have you forget that he advocated for cutting social security all throughout his career as a senator. He also advocated for extending those cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. Isn’t it telling that now, in the face of a potentially cataclysmic election for his party that he’s suddenly in favor of these government programs? Democrats seem to be trying to buy votes by promising free stuff yet again. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying a man can’t change but it’s awfully convenient that Joe shapes all his policies around the moment in time that he’s in when he is out there trying to get votes either for himself, or his fellow Democrats. If he has the spine of a jellyfish when it comes to hot button issues, you can bet that those candidates he’s putting his support behind in possibly the most important midterm election cycle in American history are as amorphous as he seems to be.
”The survival of our planet is lillery (literally) on the ballot.”
The survival of our planet clearly seems to involve begging other oil-producing countries to increase output in order to ease the price at the pump that spiked due to Biden’s own policies he enacted day 1. I guess if we burn oil from Saudi Arabia instead of oil from our own wells here in the United States, then it doesn’t pollute as much. Spurious tax credits are being offered to people who buy electric vehicles, but manufacturers of EVs have already ratcheted up the retail price to offset said tax credits, making them useless. Let’s also ignore the fact that the materials required to produce one EV battery requires moving and processing 500,000 lbs. of material. Mining, as we all know, is not the most environmentally friendly practice to begin with, but it’s okay because rich Hollywood types can show off their Teslas to virtue signal that they are good people and care about the earth since most people don’t realize the real cost of making and powering one of these vehicles. Oh, didn’t I mention? Teslas are powered by electricity produced primarily from power plants that use natural gas and coal. Natural gas energy production accounts for 37% of all electricity produced in the United States. And as you might know, natural gas is primarily made of methane — a greenhouse gas. Cow burps and farts release methane as well, guess which one we’re cracking down on with regulations on farmers? That’s right, cows. Have a cookie. Coal power plants account for 30% of all electricity production in the U.S., and nuclear accounts for 20%. If nuclear power made up a larger percentage, I would believe that EVs are more environmentally friendly, but that just isn’t the case. So bring that up the next time some bleeding heart liberal tries to refute the facts. Those EVs aren’t powering themselves. So for those of us who can’t afford crystal glasses from which to sniff our own farts, we’re stuck using expensive gasoline.
A lot of people who refute the idea that Biden cancelling the Keystone XL pipeline could never have contributed to a spike in fuel prices need to remember how commodities markets — and stock exchanges in general — operate. The promise of the completion Keystone XL pipeline being dashed against the rocks would have naturally had a precipitous effect on oil as a commodity. Transport of fossil fuels is factored into the price just like any other industry. Your food costs would be cheaper if trucks didn’t have to buy expensive fuel to transport said food to stores. And thus we see the effect that boneheaded energy policies can have on the price of everything else that we buy. You know, those costs that Biden erroneously dubbed the ‘Putin price hike’ despite things getting out of control long before the Ukraine-Russia conflict ever began. Logistics costs matter as much as production costs, and companies still have to turn a profit.
”Your right to vote — even our DEMOCRACY is on the ballot!”
Once again we see an allusion to voting rights being challenged, and messaging like this is meant to put the image of January 6th in everyone’s minds, as well as any other instance of Republicans refuting the results of the 2020 election. I guess these instances of denying election results don’t count, though.
That’s what really gets under my skin, just the absolute blindness it takes to accuse your opponents of that which you yourself are guilty. Both sides are guilty of it, at least have a little integrity and say that. But then, it wouldn’t be dunking on your opponents to do so, and keep in mind we’re dealing with a country filled with low information voters here. The whole secret to political messaging is to leave out half the story and frame what information you do offer the mass of knuckle-dragging NPCs whose votes politicians rely on to carry them to victory in such a way to degrade your opponents and uplift your allies and yourself. Maybe this is what Trump meant by “Build the wall” because I feel like trying to inform the average person of the travesty that is government at this point is futile in the best of cases, but here we are. If I change one person’s mind and inspire them to seek out the truth then I will have done my job.
”There's no question, it's been hard few years, but we've come a long way.”
I just wanted to chuck this one in. Try as they might with their subtitles, I heard what I heard. I don’t feel like we’ve come a long way, either, unless we are considering startling amounts of debt being racked up in credit by people just trying to make ends meet. Not in a recession, though. Tell me more.
”10 million more new jobs, more than ever created before at this point in a presency (presidency).”
Biden likes to throw this number around, as well as have his NPC press secretary do him the service of tossing it around as well, but it’s inaccurate. The official tally for job growth under Biden by the Bureau of Labor Statistics has job growth at 9.5 million jobs since January 2021. Rounding up gets us to 10 million, but 500,000 isn’t exactly a small amount. I know that may seem like nitpicking, but when you qualify it with the fact that the Congressional Budget Office stated in February 2021 that organic job growth would have amounted to 6.25 million jobs in 2021 and 1.74 million jobs in 2022, that leaves us with 1.51 million jobs that would’ve been created by the American Rescue plan. So, bravo on the 1.51 million, Joe, but it’s not 10 million. That said, I will concede that we often attribute things that merely occur organically during a President’s term to them, but you lose that privilege when you still have the bad habit of attributing everything bad happening on your watch to your predecessor. Should we also attribute those job gains to Trump since he’s also getting the blame for the border crisis that didn’t reach such cataclysmic levels until Biden took office? I guess I’m asking what the rules are, and how they can possibly be made equitable so blame and credit can be laid at the feet of the correct person.
”3.7% unemployment rate, near record low in history this country.”
We’ll give you this one, Joe, good job. It is an increase by .2% from last month, but still a victory. I think the emergence of such a low unemployment rate is at least a boon one can take from the fact that inflation is still soaring at 8.3%, which the White House continually tries to downplay. For more details on these numbers, go here.
”I just signed into law, historic Inflation Reduction Act.”
I love the wording, it’s very Russian. It’s getting rid of that pesky definite article. Obvious evidence that Joe Biden is a Russian agent. Only kidding. Maybe. Anyway, the ‘historic’ Inflation Reduction Act is a bill that the White House thought so much of, they decided to parade their ‘victory’ in passing it in front of the rest of us while the stock market crashed before everyone’s eyes. But it’s okay, because it will lower inflation by a ‘negligible’ amount over 10 years. Hooray. The celebration was the epitome of being out-of-touch, with the blood red Dow Jones Index numbers on the screen while Biden talked about how great the economy is doing. For more on that, go here.
”I just signed the first significant new gun safety law in nearly 30 years.”
True, but it just seeks to erode the 2nd amendment further. I tend to hang on that whole ‘shall not be infringed’ thing, and I very much adhere to the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s opinion he wrote in the decision on District of Columbia v. Heller where he stated, “The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense at home,” and a more operative portion is the following: In the Second Amendment’s operative clause (“the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”), the phrase “the right of the people” creates “a strong presumption that the Second Amendment right is exercised individually and belongs to all Americans.” Scalia then goes on to state, “… the phrase “to keep and bear Arms”, the word “Arms” “extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding.” To put it another way - I believe Biden’s gun law is yet another instance of incrementalism to erode freedoms all Americans once enjoyed, but are now constantly besieged by politicians who desire power more than a Lord of the Rings character.
”And we passed the CHIPS and Science act”
I’m sure Nancy Pelosi appreciated this since she and her husband have a king’s ransom in call options sunk into Nvidia — a prominent tech company supplied by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, or TSMC, who Pelosi met with during her controversial visit to Taiwan that almost kicked off World War 3. TSMC was also one of the companies who basically held the U.S. Government at gunpoint, proverbially, in order to encourage Congress to push through a $52 billion bribe for them to build factories on U.S. soil.
”Folks, Democrats offer a vision for a better America.”
What might that vision be, Joe? Surging crime that your do-nothing Soros-backed District Attorneys won’t prosecute unless it comes from right-wing citizens? Catch-and-release cashless bail systems to keep criminals out of jail who then immediately go out and re-offend because there is no immediate penalty for doing so? Rampant inflation that is having a devastating two-pronged effect on savings, draining everyone’s savings faster and making those funds worth less in the process? An education system set up to prey on children with teachers who have been especially busy this year perpetrating sex crimes against kids? Turning a blind eye while those same kids are brainwashed by these groomer-teachers and medical ‘professionals’ into going on drugs used to chemically castrate sex offenders under the false pretense of ‘pausing puberty’ as well as getting irreversible surgeries to mutilate their bodies to treat hastily diagnosed gender dysphoria that profited in excess of $1.9 billion in 2021, and is expected to enjoy a compound annual growth rate of 11.23%? By 2030, at that exact growth rate, the annual profit will have grown to a staggering $4,951,662,499.63 for elective surgeries to remove/repurpose otherwise functional, healthy body parts. Whatever happened to ‘First, do no harm’? If that is the Democrat vision for America, we’re in a lot of trouble.
”It's within the reach, our reach. You just have to VOTE!”
Stop yelling, Joe. I heard you. Also, ‘our reach’? Sounds a little communist. I kid. His call to vote is admirable, and I certainly encourage everyone to do their civic duty and vote, but arm yourselves with knowledge, first. The worst thing you can ever do is merely pick a team and vote for that team. Every person should have enough political acumen and integrity to consider withholding their vote from the candidate their party has put before them if their policies and rhetoric don’t hold up. Look at a politician’s past to understand the future under their leadership. Don’t be afraid to look under the hood.
Loyalty to a team makes no sense in politics, choose the right person for the job. Make sure your chosen candidate is chosen by you, not for you.
