CNN under fire by leftists who don't like company's new direction under Chris Licht
#BoycottCNN trends on Twitter after leftists get spooked by prospect of hearing other perspectives when Chris Licht's changes to the company begin to take effect.
A common trope of the left is their disconnect from how the world really works. These are the same people who didn’t believe a trucker boycott would affect anything in their lives because they sincerely believe food just appears on shelves at the store as if by magic. They also don’t seem to believe that CNN has to actually appeal to anyone but the noisy minority now screaming like stuck pigs on Twitter as they attempt to organize some loose boycott of the long-standing news network.
Twitter’s noisy minority lamented the state of things at the news network as they attempted to organize a boycott of CNN through the hashtag #BoycottCNN on the social media platform on Monday. Among their grievances are once-loyal viewers, or so they claim, complaining about Don Lemon asking if Biden was fit to run for re-election in 2024. Other bones of contention include things like… well, I’ll let them say it.
The blue wave emoji and amount of flags checks out.
Here’s one of the most successful leftoid reply guys also supporting the measure to make sure the left never has to hear a perspective other than that that is carefully curated by their puppetmasters.
It makes me feel like asking them what it’s like to feel like everything they disagree with imposes an existential crisis on them. Oh but it gets better. Here’s my personal favorite:
It’s worrying that it got 147 likes while barely masquerading as English. Maybe I just don’t understand the language of lobotomized cultists.
I’m going to clue all of you crying on Twitter in on something — in order to continue to exist, CNN needs to appeal to a wider audience. Their ratings are in the gutter and advertisers are less likely to advertise on CNN as a result. Pleasing a few thousand people whose mantra is ‘vote blue no matter who’ is not paying the bills anymore. Furthermore, if you really wanted to keep CNN the way you like it, you maybe should’ve supported CNN+ — a failure that cost them $300 million. Or maybe you did, and there are literally only 10,000 of you that signed up for CNN+, in which case, you should be worried. That’s a very tiny, but very noisy minority. You are hard-pressed even to sway a state assembly vote with those numbers.
Apparently this backlash was really brought to a head when it was reported that Chris Licht has been quietly meeting with Senate Republicans in order to figure out how best to map a return to neutrality for what used to be a stalwart news source. CNN in its Trump Derangement Syndrome iteration was a fever dream of rage porn revolving around Donald Trump’s existence being used to drive ratings. Instead of a 2 minutes hate indoctrination program it was a 24 hour cycle of it.
I commend Licht for the new direction he is trying to take the company in, and I hope in time it allows CNN to mend the bridges they’ve burned. It’s going to be a long process and it’ll definitely require a top-down personnel change. Allowing the old guard of the orange man bad version of CNN to remain would be a half-measure that threatens to derail any sort of reformation the network could hope for. They, like so many media outlets, let the noisy minority use their botnet to convince the world they were a vast demographic, but they’ve seen through the illusion the outrage cult has projected.
If you feel the need to rescind your loyalty to the network you liked before because they’re aiming for the center inside of toward the extreme left, then so be it. No one will miss you because you’re not a paying customer anyway. You’re the type of person Biden will market his student loan forgiveness plan to, because he knows you are allergic to taking agency for your own life. It’s time for sanity to return to the media.
It’s time to fire Don Lemon, Jake Tapper, and any other hangers on that have traded their journalistic integrity for a being part of a propaganda mill for a payday.
