Giorgia Meloni is the next Mussolini? Italy elects right-wing government
How do you know a right-wing government is about to take power? Don't worry, the 25 bot farms on Twitter will tell you.
Italy looks poised to be governed by their first female Prime Minister, which you would think would be a victory that the Left, who are traditionally more aligned with feminism, would be pleased about. Glass ceilings are being shattered, and girlbosses are taking the reins. What’s not to like, right? Wrong. Currently, the ‘tolerant Left’ is showing some rather sexist traits as they decry the first female Prime Minister of Italy coming to power. Why? And here I thought the future was female.
Well, she’s to the right of Lenin, so naturally she is a far-right extremist who is literally going to become a fascist dictator. And here I thought women were a marginalized group that should be protected, but as we know the left only protects those useful idiots who tow the line they want them to tow, to carry the narrative of a racist, homophobic, patriarchal society impeding progressive values and oppressing anyone who doesn’t look like Matt Damon. Think back to Larry Elder being dubbed the ‘black face of white supremacy’ by the LA Times, it’s basically the same thing happening here.
Giorgia Meloni is described as far-right because of her policy positions such as wanting secure borders, being a patriot, and believing that the family unit is important. I could use all the hateful buzzwords that the media is currently using for her right now, but I will abstain. I can’t wait to see the theories getting spun in leftist alternative media circles, I’m sure they’re hammering away at Chicken Little-esque doom videos and articles right now. As a matter of fact, the articles have already dropped. The Atlantic calls Meloni’s victory “The return of fascism to Italy”.
My question is this — what happened to respecting the results of an election? Every event is framed as a worldwide cataclysm if it doesn’t please the psychotic Left. This is why I left the Left. Or rather, the Left left me. I simply couldn’t come along with the mass psychosis they espouse as well-reasoned policy. Now we have a bunch of Chicken Littles on social media raining on Meloni’s parade and basically telling the Italian people that their convictions are wrong.
So how did Italians arrive at the conclusion that a right-wing government is the solution to their problems? Maybe they got tired of the Roman-style debauchery of their more left-wing leaders in recent history. Like Silvio Berlusconi being convicted of having sex with an underage prostitute and abusing the authority of his office. And what about that Rome corruption scandal in 2014, where purported Mafia members had corrupted officials and then worked in tandem with them to pilfer millions in public funds? The list could go on and on, but let’s not let the institutional Left convince us that it was deep-rooted racist, ultranationalist populism and fervor that brought about the chain of events they’re decrying as an omen of things to come, perhaps even here in the U.S. It would be convenient if they could blame a red wave on mere osmosis, but our own corrupt officials here have plenty to answer for that I’ve documented many times in the short history of this Substack.
That said, don’t expect too much to change, no matter what shifts of power take place. Politicians tend to become rather comfortable when they finally get their seats, so when they obtain them they’re not usually all that likely to rock the boat. One can look at our own constant legislative gridlock here at home to see proof of that. Backroom deals are made so each official can avoid losing too much face with the constituents they have to eventually answer to when they come up for re-election. Joe Manchin is a prime example of that with the dirty deals he’s always weaving with swamp monsters like Chuck Schumer to attempt to cling to power in West Virginia as a Democrat senator.
This is me trying to quell all the concern surrounding current events. Giorgia Meloni is not the female Benito Mussolini. The Italian Prime Minister is not going to affect our lives here in the U.S. in any real tangible way, so there’s no point in getting up in arms about it. Even if it is funny to watch a bunch of kids who can’t even name a member of their own city council lose their minds over the doom and gloom 280 characters can foment in their fragile, impressionable minds. I just wonder what those same #VoteBlueNoMatterWho types are feeling now that Hillary Clinton voiced support for Giorgia Meloni in that very same article I linked earlier in this one.
