Kanye West to be sued for $250 million by George Floyd's family
The kangaroo court railroading of Alex Jones has emboldened George Floyd's family to seek their fortune from Kanye West.
The attacks on free speech seem to be taking place in court instead of through more traditional channels of modern suppression. Another instance of this has been announced as Kanye West is set to be sued by the family of George Floyd for comments for his comments about Floyd on social media and in interviews.
According to the law firms Witherspoon Law Group and Dixon & Dixon, who announced the lawsuit in a statement to the media and are representing the interests of George Floyd’s family, a lawsuit seeking $250 million in damages from West has been filed by Roxie Washington, mother of George Floyd’s daughter, Gianna, on behalf of her daughter.
The lawsuit in question is being filed against not only Kanye West, but his business partners, and associates for “harassment, misappropriation, defamation, and infliction of emotional distress,”. Notice the strategy of lumping in others who are associated with Kanye. An individual’s actions, unless otherwise proven, are theirs and theirs alone. By this logic Jeffrey Dahmer’s coworkers should have been arrested for the murders he committed, as well. But lawsuits are funny like that. They’re hoping to scatter any base of support that Kanye might have, seeking statements from anyone hoping to weasel out of liability in order to solidify their case by leaving him standing alone.
Isn’t it also funny and ironic for this statement to accuse Kanye West of trying to profit off George Floyd’s death, when the very purpose of the lawsuit they’re putting forth is to profit off of George Floyd’s death? And given that Witherspoon law group is an ambulance chaser law firm, I almost wonder if they contacted Roxie Washington instead of vice versa.
”In his recent appearance on the popular podcast 'Drink Champs,' Kanye West knowingly made blatantly false statements about George Floyd's death to promote his brands, and increase marketing value and revenue for himself, his business partners, and associates.” the statement reads, qualifying the naure of the comments as “malicious” and suggesting strong that Kanye West had the express intention of using the memory of George Floyd’s death to enrich himself. They also lament that social media censorship has sadly not managed to silence Kanye West, as clips of the since-deleted podcast are still circulating, which is the crux of this whole issue. But I will elaborate on why this is a full-frontal assault on freedom of speech later on in the article.
"The interests of the child are priority. George Floyd's daughter is being retraumatized by Kanye West's comments and he's creating and unsafe and unhealthy environment for her," said Attorney Nuru Witherspoon, partner at The Witherspoon Law Group. More “words are violence” nonsense that really has no bearing in the real world except for emotionally feeble kids who never faced adversity before entering the work force. But I digress.
"Kanye's comments are a repugnant attempt to discount George Floyd's life and to profit from his inhumane death. We will hold Mr. West accountable for his flagrant remarks against Mr. Floyd's legacy," said Attorney Pat D. Dixon, III, partner at Dixon & Dixon Attorneys at Law. Hello pot, meet kettle. Goebbels would be proud.
"Free Speech Rights do not include harassment, lies, misrepresentation, and the misappropriation of George Floyd's legacy. Some words have consequences and Mr. West will be made to understand that," said Attorney Kay Harper Williams, partner at The Witherspoon Law Group. And this is the one quote that really, really got me. It is so erroneous I don’t know where to start. Scratch that, yes I do.
Freedom of speech is meant to be absolute. It is no one’s job but yours to ascertain what words mean to you and what your reaction to them should be. This is the same reason why the pronoun crowd demands that people be held criminally liable for using the wrong words to address them, it’s classic incrementalism implemented through a social contagion meant to gradually erode freedom of speech in concert with the loophole that private companies operating in the space of the internet can police what speech is used on their platforms. Just these two aspects alone effectively shatter the 1st amendment of the U.S. Constitution into a thousand pieces and scatter them to the wind.
What we’re seeing with this lawsuit against Kanye West and the absolutely absurd amount Alex Jones has been ordered to pay cumulatively throughout all the kangaroo court judgments made against him in recent months is the all-out assault on those people who would be considered to have what is eloquently referred to as ‘fuck you money’. People with a lot of money can build their own platforms and they don’t have to play by the rules of the arbiters of morality over at Twitter or Facebook or whatever big tech censorship firm you want to pick. So how does the institutional left defeat them? In the courts with the activists judges they themselves have installed.
Others who repeatedly find themselves the objects of the institutional left’s ire should also be cautious. Joe Rogan, I’m referring to you. They’ve tried repeatedly by going after your Spotify affiliation, but now I think they have the game plan to take you down, too. They’re just running a couple beta tests on Alex Jones and Kanye West, first.
Let me be crystal fucking clear: this should be taken as a shot across the bow in the war on the Constitution of the United States, on our very rights as Americans. Ask yourselves why the left is constantly besieging the 1st and 2nd amendments? Because they’re the ones that act as the glue that holds the whole system together. We’re dealing with tyrants who want to burn down what America is and ‘build back better’ in an image more reminiscent of Communist China than the current iteration of America.
Don’t let the initial veneer of celebrity gossip fool you — this and the Alex Jones case should worry all Americans very much. If wealthy people can be taken down in unjust courts then the rest of us don’t stand a chance.
