U.S. Biolab creates covid strain with 80% mortality rate
Is the lab leak theory really so implausible when we have scientists in universities playing god?
There are a few universal truths in this world: power corrupts, money talks, and human beings will always try to play God. I would have thought we would have learned our lesson about gain of function research being conducted with dangerous viruses after that whole covid pandemic thing kicked off, but as Winston Churchill said, “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
Researchers at Boston University, in their baffling pursuit of further gain of function research into covid beyond just what Fauci funded, has managed to combine both the omicron variant and the original alpha strain of covid into one diabolical virus capable of wiping out 80% of infected individuals. They managed to do this by combining the spike protein from the omicron variant — which as we know is the version that was extremely transmissible, but much less deadly — and combined it with the original Wuhan strain of the virus. The Wuhan strain, while less transmissible, has a much more sinister outcome in that the symptoms it creates in individuals are far more severe. Clearly the researchers at Boston University wanted us to have the best of both worlds, should this one escape like the original did.
Now before you ransack the stores to buy all the masks, Clorox wipes, and toilet paper again, understand that this research was conducted in mice, so there isn’t a concrete guarantee it would have the same mortality rate in human beings. That said, scientists use mice for such research because of their anatomical, physiological, and genetic similarities to humans, so the worry is warranted, but I wouldn’t sweat it too much. And if you ask me, that’s an insult to rodents, who I think would be more informed voters than your average smartphone zombie today.
It seems that this is also not violating any sort of protocols or regulations, as the U.S. lifted a ban on gain of function research in 2017. Now they naturally claimed that this will also entail a much more rigorous process to obtain grants for such research, but this is the U.S. government we’re talking about, here. Unless it benefits the people in some way, they’re not going to go out of their way to impede something, least of all research into viruses that, if modified a certain way, could kill us all. That’s A-OK, in the eyes of the tyrants in power.
Scientists have decried this research as reckless, such as Israeli researcher Dr. Shmuel Shapira, who said that the researchers at Boston University are ‘playing with fire’. And certainly I agree, given how the covid pandemic went and what potentially caused it. I don’t think we should risk treading that road again with an even more dangerous virus, though I suppose to play devil’s advocate I at least see the value of preparing for possible mutations, which would no doubt be the official excuse for gain of function research but we all know deep down that powerful governments experiment in horrid ways to find new ways to kill people, and if something beneficial comes from such research that actually helps people then it’s purely by mere happenstance.
Now then, let’s do what we often do on this Substack and look at how damage control is taking place now that Boston University and, by extension, their puppet masters, are panicking that their nefarious pet project has seen the light of day and entered the public consciousness. The official position is that the news regarding this research is false and misrepresents their true findings.
Boston University released a statement on Monday afternoon outright denying that they were conducting gain of function research at all, and suggested that their findings in fact created a less dangerous version of the covid virus. Naturally they also insist their tinkering is for a good cause, citing the medicinal applications for their research.
“Ultimately, this research will provide a public benefit,” read the statement, “by leading to better, targeted therapeutic interventions to help fight against future pandemics.”
Pardon me, but I don’t believe you, Dr. Mengele. Next you’ll tell me that Germany had good intentions with their medical experiments during World War 2. Or Japan with their infamous “Unit 731” which was also doing grisly experiments on humans such as intentionally infecting them with various types of infectious agents and even using them to test bombs carrying germ warfare payloads to see if they worked, among other things.
Hey, maybe if we go to war with Russia we can capture some POWs to try out our genetic weaponry that we claim we aren’t creating despite the bounty of evidence that goes back quite a number of years. I’m sure the “tolerant left” would love that. Just think of a virus that will only kill a person with a certain DNA archetype, such as racial markers or even an individual’s unique genetic code, making the virus deadly to only one person. There was even concerns that this technology could be used to assassinate Presidents. And from the looks of it, we — at least at one time — here in the United States were looking at how feasible it would be to take out other world leaders with these custom viruses. Surely we’re not still doing that. Think about the CIA’s track record in scenarios like that and tell me how likely that is.
Call me a good ol’ conspiracy theorist, but I’ll need hard evidence of altruism before I ever believe these clandestine experiments aren’t being done with malevolent intent.
