Why is the murder of Jeff German not being talked about more?
The media has chosen to merely mention the death of Jeff German, an investigative reporter in Las Vegas, since it was one of their own political persuasion that did the killing.
Just like Ron Paul's Presidential campaign, the media chose again to employ the silent treatment when it comes to inconvenient stories. None more inconvenient than the stabbing death of Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German, whose death police quickly linked to Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles, a Democrat. Prosecutors stated that German was found to have wounds on his arms and hands consistent with wounds often received when one attempts to defend themselves during a stabbing. Furthermore, the truly damning evidence against Telles comes from the fact that Telles' DNA was found under German's fingernails, which often occurs during a struggle for one's life when they're scratching and clawing at the exposed flesh of the perpetrator who is killing them. This news, however, hardly registered a blip in the mainstream news cycle, who found themselves disinterested when proof of left-wing violence against a right-wing journalist presented itself. It's hard to paint the right as a terrorist faction if left-wingers are literally murdering right-wing media.
Yes, friend, party affiliation is everything. Now I'm sure all relevant powers are being plied to bury this faster than Trump buried those documents inside Ivana Trump's casket. Yes, I do still think that theory is insane, but I like it because I can actually see that absolute mad lad doing it. Besides, it was fun to write about. If you didn't catch that one, I'll link it below.
For more context, Jeff German had done several highly damaging reports on Robert Telles, primarily relating to his penchant of mistreating and bullying staff members in his office who were loyal to Telles' predecessor, John Cahill. Cahill had endorsed Telles in 2018, but had since rescinded that support to instead throw in for Rita Reid, another Democrat vying for the office of Public administrator. Cahill is clearly a luminary, or he knew the type of person he was dealing with.
Telles clearly felt some type of way about German, who had hindered his bid for re-election severely with the scathing and damning articles he wrote about Telles. And what do men who claim not to be nepotistic bullies do when confronted with such a person? They stab them to death and try to make it look like it was done in self defense by cutting their own arms superficially to pretend it was self-defense, apparently, even though they ambushed the man outside his home. Oh yeah, I forgot the word. Allegedly.
What is telling about this story is how the guy who should be looking at the case through the lens of a prosecutor actually sounds like he is defending Telles' actions in his comments about the situation. Prosecutor Richard Scow described the nature of the attack, seemingly an ambush where Jeff German left his home and was summarily accosted, allegedly by Telles, leading to German being stabbed seven times and left to die.
“This was him lashing out, the defendant lashing out, at the cause of the unraveling of his life at this point,” Scow said, adding that German's reporting had ruined Telles' political career, and likely his marriage as well. Tough break, maybe don't be a scumbag next time. Oh wait, there won't be a next time because he's up for a murder charge and his DNA was found under the victim's fingernails. If that doesn't result in a conviction then a much larger investigation into corruption would be the logical next step.
The best part? Telles has not even been removed from office. He's still getting paid on the taxpayers' dime to rot in jail right now. He still technically retains his post, and will still be making 6-figures even in jail. According to the Nevada Revised Statue, the annual salary for the Public Administrator is set at $119,934. I get the concept of 'innocent until proven guilty' -- again another concept seemingly reserved for the left if recent events and leftist sentiment are any example -- but active investigations should matter. At least have a hearing to determine whether to allow Telles to remain in office pending further investigation or to strip him of his post based on the severity of the charges against him.
And hey, I know what you're thinking, "Oh, here we go again, the classic 'if the roles were reversed' argument," Well, yes. Your intellectual fatigue in relation to a concept doesn't make it any less valid. I believe firmly that if the roles were reversed, more FBI raids would be happening right now and the dinosaur media would be trumpeting from the highest mountaintops clear through November about how Republicans are a dangerous faction who should be locked in a gulag for everyone's safety so that authoritarian democracy ( oxymoronic, I know, just like the democratic party I left after voting for Obama in 2008 ) can reign supreme and we will have a thousand year reich where the children of the nobility born with a silver crackpipe in their mouths can lead the U.S. to eternal prosperity. Or we will become a failed state like the Soviet Union. I think you can guess which one is more likely.
I know I sound deeply untrusting but this whole political climate has lent itself to miscarriages of justice and one-sided enforcement for some time. Add to that an institutional stonewalling by leftist loyalists highly placed in all forms of media and government alike, and you have quite an insurmountable stranglehold. It's hard to beat an opponent who doesn't have to follow the rules because they won't hold themselves accountable, while you yourself have to tow the line strictly or have your life upended by Stasi-like investigations.
And here I thought the current zeitgeist was about equality.
