Why the southern border will always stay open
If our mainstream politicians like Chuck Schumer wanted to solve the border crisis, they could do so in short order. They're getting exactly what they want out of it.
Before we begin, here is Chuck Schumer admitting the quiet part out loud.
I’m sure you’ve all heard of “The Great Replacement Theory” by now. Particularly after Tucker Carlson called attention to it on his now defunct Fox News show Tucker Carlson Tonight. Naturally, the mainstream labeled it as another example of “White Fragility” in order to paint it as some kind of fear that white people have about having their place in society usurped by becoming a minority themselves — undoubtedly serving as the death knell of ever getting back to “the good ol’ days”.
The idea of demographic shifts due to immigration is often labeled as a white supremacist conspiracy theory to dissuade discussion before understanding its nuances. However, it's important to recognize the genuine changes occurring in many developed Western countries. These shifts impact all legal citizens, regardless of race, as the influx of immigrants alters the cultural and social fabric of these nations. While media outlets may frame this concept as merely 'white people whining,' the reality is that these demographic changes affect everyone, not just white populations. So it isn’t just white people who will be getting replaced in developed Western countries — it’s everyone.
Yes, everyone who has been born into the prosperity of the United States in particular have come to expect many things from living in this nation. Safety and security in all its forms. Abundance of food and access to high quality health care - if you can afford it. The healthcare, I mean. High wage jobs and the ability to build wealth to afford the finer things in life and ensure that we have plenty left over from a lifetime of service for a comfortable retirement. Good schools for our children so that the next generation will be armed with the knowledge necessary to carry on that seemingly unending prosperity. Inalienable rights that allow us to speak truth to power and ensure that tyranny never takes hold.
See where I’m going with this?
It is, for the most part, an entitlement issue. We as Americans simply expect too much. We’re not happy to eke out a modest peasant’s living from the meager scraps our betters give us in return for backbreaking labor and unending service to the machine. But do you know who is? Those migrants coming from developing countries where they’re already used to living with next to nothing. By comparison, those offerings we as Americans would regard as minuscule from our government and employers alike look like a windfall waiting to happen for people coming from struggling nations. The grass is always greener, and all that.
To put it another way, the unstoppable force of corporations being beholden to their shareholders to continue growing profits year after year is meeting the immovable object of the workforce they have to draw from wanting more benefits and more pay for their continued service in order to continue to live comfortably as inflation surges and the cost of living rises in kind.
Another part of the equation is the fact that we as Americans simply do not reproduce enough to maintain replacement levels. According to the CDC, the U.S. fertility rate has been below replacement level since 1971—53 years![1] The only reason our population has continued to grow is because of mass immigration.[2] That sounds like a crisis that the government would have wanted to tackle long ago if it wasn’t more convenient to simply ship in migrants and refugees who are used to living well below the poverty line and who will work for wages far below those that Americans born here are willing to accept.
This may be intellectual hubris on my part, but I find it hard to believe any other scenario than the one where the elites of our nation are getting exactly what they want by letting the border stay wide open. The elites can provide a better life to these migrants than what they had in their nations of origin while keeping them well below the current poverty line in the United States. And they get to enjoy much fatter profit margins while doing it, since payroll and other benefits will be much cheaper for them. The rulers of our nation then get to exchange out the ungrateful citizens born on American soil and rule over a new population of people who are grateful for way less than what wouldn't have a chance at qualifying as the "American Dream."
Furthermore, it’s far more prevalent that these migrants go to states like California that are more prone to voting blue than red in recent years.[3] And which party establishes and defends such generous entitlement programs? The Democrats. If these illegal aliens were allowed to vote, you can pretty well guess who they will vote for in most cases. Oh wait, they do vote in some states.[4] Are you beginning to understand why requiring identification to vote is seen as “racist” yet?
But not only that, other politicians like Senator Dick Durbin are salivating at the prospect of cramming as many military-age migrants into our country as possible because our military is lacking. But rather than describe what he said, I’ll just show you:
“Do you know what the recruiting numbers are at the Army, Navy, and the Air Force? They can't reach their quotas each month. They can't find enough people to join our military forces. And there are those who are undocumented who want the chance to serve and risk their lives for this country. Should we give them a chance? I think we should.”[5]
This proposal to fill military gaps with undocumented immigrants immediately reminds me of the Roman Empire’s historical precedent. As Rome expanded, it increasingly relied on the people from conquered territories to fill its military ranks. Over time, this practice diluted the military’s loyalty and effectiveness, contributing to the empire’s decline.[6]
And with the continued fears that World War 3 might break out at any time, people like Dick Durbin are excited at the prospect of fresh meat to throw into the grinder. And it’s funny how no one seemed to call out Durbin as racist for proposing that we literally conscript immigrants into the military in exchange for citizenship.
But after all I have said, I do not oppose immigration. I believe anyone who wants to come here and be a net positive to our country should be able to do so through the proper legal channels. What I have a problem with is the machinations at the top that keep us as men and women at odds with each other to such a degree that we don’t want to start homegrown American families. It also proves to sow racial and sexual division for the sake of making sure a united front of American citizens — both men and women — of all colors do not catch on to the real game being played, which is simply to keep our attention on our peers and not the puppet masters pulling our strings.
After all, it’s easier for our enemies at the top to win if we don’t even know we’re playing the game in the first place. How else will postmodern feudalism be established?
