Armed store owner takes matters into his own hands to defend his store from robbers
Video surfaced of the encounter where one of the would-be robbers screams "He shot my arm off" after the store owner took matters into his own hands
The average police response time as of May 2022 has been rated at 11 minutes nationwide. If someone wishes to do you harm or kill you, it often doesn't take nearly that long for them to finish you off, especially where guns are involved. Is it any wonder, then, that in urban centers where crime rates have absolutely skyrocketed, it's only logical to see citizens feeling the need to take matters into their own hands to protect their lives and property.
It adds a lot of context to this story. An elderly store owner in Norco, CA - a 50 minute drive from Los Angeles - is in the news after protecting himself from armed robbers carrying long rifles with a shotgun he keeps behind the counter.
The Riverside County Sheriff's department reported that four disguised suspects arrived in a BMW SUV, going into the store while pointing rifles at the elderly store owner.
In this case, the right outcome occurred and the robber got more than he bargained for as the owner produced a shotgun of his own and fired a single shot at the first suspect in the door, forcing the would-be robbers to flee the scene with one of theirs shouting "He shot my arm off!"
It's poetic justice.
Even more encouragingly - and totally counter to NYC policies - the Sheriff's office commended the store owner's actions, who wrote in a statement," In this case, a lawfully armed member of our community prevented a violent crime and ensured their own safety, while being confronted with multiple armed suspects,"
Police later found the wounded suspect at the hospital being treated for injuries consistent with a shotgun blast, and stated that said suspect would be thrown in jail once he was released from the hospital. So, a happy ending all around. I can't help but wonder, though, if riots would've broken out had the injured suspect died. I'm sure the media would've vilified the caucasian owner for killing a black man, regardless of circumstances.
In the most recent instance of such deceitful media, they painted a man named Tekle Sundberg as a "mentally ill, but model citizen". All he did was shoot through the walls of the apartment of a woman who said he was stalking her, putting her and her children at risk. Model citizen, indeed. I think people realized how stupid they were and the marches on Sundberg's behalf quickly dispersed once more facts about the case came to light. People thought they had another George Floyd. Or they wanted that to be the case. Most likely the latter, but I digress.
It's always nice to see citizens actually being allowed to defend themselves. If you remember - and to explain that dig at NYC - a bodega owner was arrested for homicide after stabbing an assailant to death who came behind his counter and threatened him. It was only due to massive public outcry that the NYC DA's office elected not to pursue charges against the elderly bodega owner with a crime for self-defense.
Even more telling, is the fact that that same DA's office routinely declines to charge petty crimes, which directly feeds the trend that has urban centers becoming dangerous hotbeds of crime and destruction. George Soros is getting his money's worth for those DAs he props up and funds.
For now, at least we know there’s a little sanity left in the world. Let’s hope it spreads. Continue speaking out against soft-on-crime DAs who are putting you and yours at risk - all of our lives are at stake.
