Paul Pelosi attacked in his home by an assailant with a hammer
The news media is breaking their necks to spin this story into some kind of a right-wing terrorist attack, but that assessment is wrong, as you will see.
Paul Pelosi, husband of Speaker of the House and U.S. Rep. for California’s 12th Congressional District, Nancy Pelosi, was attacked in Pelosi’s San Francisco home by an intruder on Friday morning.
William Scott, Chief of Police of the San Francisco Police Department, said during a press conference that David DePape, age 42, is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, burglary, attempted homicide, and a litany of other charges.
A press release about the attack was released by Speaker Pelosi’s spokesman, Drew Hammill.
“Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi. The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation. Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery. The Speaker was not in San Francisco at the time.
“The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time.”
Naturally, this incident has added fuel to the fire that seems to be getting hotter as we get closer to the midterm election, and the institutional left is blowing on the embers for all their worth, making sure they paint this guy as a right-winger for a ‘victory’ for their side. They especially played up the part where DePape went into the house and screamed, “Where’s Nancy?!” so we see how they want you to view this apparent MKUltra case. Several violent incidents have occurred lately, and a large amount of those seem to be left-leaning individuals attacking those on the right. Just a few examples:
A pro-life woman campaigning for the organization “Right to Life” was shot in Michigan
A person campaigning for Marco Rubio was senselessly beaten in Florida
An 18-year-old young man was murdered in North Dakota in cold blood for being right-wing
So you can imagine that the left is positively thrilled in a macabre way that Speaker Pelosi’s husband was attacked by a man who ran blogs ( one of which has been removed from the internet already ) that had many things on it that people would associate with right-wing internet “extremists” such as conspiracy theories about election fraud, pizzagate, the U.S. government’s astroturfing of internet forums, etc. And anti-semitic posts, memes, and remarks ( except that right-wing people are very often pro-Israel, but I digress ) that would no doubt make anyone condemn this guy totally. And he should be condemned, but how genuine is this, really? First, though, let’s dig into the man himself.
David Depape, age 42, is a ‘hemp jewelry maker’ who lives in Berkeley, California. Right away the name evokes visions of a hostile right-wing enclave nestled in the heart of deep blue California, I’m sure. But seriously, I don’t know many right-wing extremists who would come out of the same place where they had to run Presidential levels of security detail for a speaking engagement by Ben Shapiro. Not exactly safe territory for right-wing individuals.
He is also a registered member of the Green Party. For those who have short memories, that’s the left-wing’s preferred third party option. The Tea Party of bizarro world, if you will.
To lend further context to the Green Party’s political stances, you need only reference this testimonial on their website.
”I'm Green because I can't take the lies and the conditions anymore. Homelessness while there are empty houses, prisons built while schools close, children being shot down on our streets by police, mothers losing their children to the state because they don't have water in their homes and can't afford the water bill,” — Cheri Honkala
Now I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure I know many Republicans who are anti-police and pro-squatters’ rights. But we will give our boy the benefit of the doubt — those are merely the policy positions of a fellow Green Party member, not explicitly his own.
Furthermore, Depape is a nudist. How many nudist Republicans do you know? I’m sure there have to be some but if we’re looking at statistics, the chances are pretty low that this is the case. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Still, let’s give him the benefit of the doubt, once again. Surely he’s a right-wing extremist. Right? Well…
I can forgive all the other evidence, but the rainbow weed flag flying outside of a place described by local residents as a ‘hippie collective’ is just a bridge too far. If this is his residence, then we have another gaping hole in the assertion that other media sources like Vice are making that paint him as a far-right extremist. They absolutely need him to be their ‘October Surprise’. This seems to be attempted murder on Paul Pelosi by a nudist hippie. In crime-ridden San Francisco. Some surprise. I know things are dire, based on recent polling which has Democrats locked in uncertain races across the country, but come on.
Let’s dig into the blog that’s still up and look at something that really just… doesn’t mesh for me. All of the posts on this blog only date back as far as August 23rd, for one thing. With the way the media is hyping this guy up you’d think he was the Unabomber version 2.0. Did this guy suddenly get redpilled in August and start building a shrine to host every meme that ever gets posted on the Politically Incorrect board on 4chan?
He’s hitting all the bulletpoints for what the FBI would deem to be a right-wing extremist: anti-semitism, Pro-christianity ( how many hippie christians do you know? ), supporting Russian aggression, Pro-Trump sentiment, Pro-Tulsi Gabbard sentiment, Pro-Thomas Sowell, Pro-2nd amendment, election denial ( which, is more of a left-wing position since they’ve been doing it since at least 2000 - see here ) the list goes on.
According to this blog and what we know about him, this man is a chimera: somehow simultaneously left-wing and right-wing. And so much of a caricature of right-wing positions that it almost looks like this blog was made as a parody. Or as conveniently planted evidence. Just speculating, but I have my doubts.
♫ This blog is really suspect, in all the things it shows. And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows ♫
It’s almost November, not too early for Christmas jokes, I swear.
A lot of things are not adding up. Capitol Police are in charge of running security at the homes of members of Congress. Are we to believe that a hippie with a hammer evaded security to break into the home of the woman who is second in line for the Presidency without being detected? Paul Pelosi is left to his own devices when Nancy is in Washington, I guess.
Some even believe it’s all a hoax and as a result “Jussie Smollet 2.0” was trending on Twitter on Friday. I don’t think it’s a hoax but the concerted push to frame the perpetrator as a right-wing extremist is a bit too over-the-top. Methinks thou doth protest too much.
In closing, I wish Paul Pelosi a full recovery and I condemn any sort of violence like this.
There is no rift we can’t solve with words alone, we just need to be open to hearing each other.
