Kari Lake staffers received mail containing 'white powder'
Reminiscent of the infamous 'anthrax letters' sent to media and politicians in the wake of 9/11, Kari Lake's campaign offices have been the target of a similar 'attack'.
Amidst a midterm election cycle that seems to somehow be more divided than even the 2020 election, with many partisan attacks of the literal, physical variety — some even turning deadly — taking place, it’s only fitting that some person go the extra mile and intend to replicate the fear felt when envelopes of anthrax were sent to the media and politicians in the wake of 9/11.
Kari Lake’s campaign office in Phoenix, AZ, has been closed pending investigation into an envelope unwittingly opened by one of Lake’s staffers that contained what authorities are calling ‘suspicious white powder’. That staffer is now being held under medical supervision, according to Lake’s campaign.
A spokesman for Lake by the name of Ross Trumble offered insight into the incident in a statement.
“Yesterday, a member of the Kari Lake staff opened an envelope delivered to our campaign office that contained suspicious white powder,” stated Trumble.
“It was one of two envelopes that were confiscated by law enforcement and sent to professionals at Quantico for examination, and we are awaiting details.” the statement read.
This incident comes on the heels of leftists extremists shooting up the home of North Carolina Congressional candidate Pat Harrigan’s parents, with bullets landing mere feet from where Harrigan’s children, who were staying at the home, were sleeping.
Partisan violence has tainted this election cycle more than any other in recent memory, and there are many examples. Let’s see if we can establish a pattern.
A campaigner working for Senator Marco Rubio’s campaign was brutally assaulted in Buffalo, NY. He maintains his assailants were politically motivated, and it’s not hard to believe.
An 84-year-old pro-life woman was shot in Michigan while campaigning door-to-door for the Right to Life organization.
An 18-year-old in North Dakota was murdered in cold blood by a Democrat named Shannon Brandt, who believed the young man was a ‘Republican extremist’.
Of course we can’t forget the attack on Paul Pelosi by a hippie illegal immigrant from Canada living in Berkeley, CA. A man who the media desperately wanted to paint as a right-wing extremist, but no one bought it. This story is developing, albeit slowly, I have another piece about it coming up. I am sure, though, that pertinent details will be withheld indefinitely, or at least until after the election.
The point is, the ‘tolerant left’ seems to be running up the score. I could sit here and list things all day but it wouldn’t change the fact of which side is doing more to harm the other. Naturally, the responsible side tries to sound more peaceful in their rhetoric. That is, unless they’re whipping up their base. But to the rest of us, they’re intending on doing their best Mother Theresa impression.
Ironic that the man who did a speech reminiscent of a dictator out of film, condemning his political rivals — and half the country — as extremists, would call for peace all of a sudden. But I digress.
We see the climate being created in our country, and it would be impossible to discount the fact that foreign actors are also involved. That’s why this incident involving the envelopes filled with white powder should give us all pause. Average citizens who are angry at their perceived political foes likely can’t get biological agents to utilize, but foreign military operatives can, and have done so before.
I do hope this is taken very seriously, as it could likely just take one little spark created by a malevolent agent’s actions to detonate the powder keg that is the current political climate in the United States.
Let’s not let our differences — or the actions of agent provocateurs — drag us into Civil War. Be vigilant, go vote, and do right by your fellow Americans whether you agree with them or not.
